I first read this book in November 2016, being the month of "Nothing But Black Metal November." For several years, I've been something of a fan of Varg Vikernes's music under the Burzum name, but I think I eventually started feeling Burzum to be too "obvious" in its greatness and so sought other black metal.
I recall a lot of Havohej that year, for example. That said, I still thought it would be a fun idea to read one of Varg's books, and this one
